Treatment of larger bulky cancerous tumors remains a real challenge for
oncologists. Using a technique refined by the University of Kentucky called
Spatially Fractionated Radiation, or "GRID Therapy", we can deliver higher
doses of radiation in clusters of small areas without the prohibitive
normal tissue damage that would otherwise occur with conventional radiation
delivery methods, resulting in significantly improved tumor response rates
including local tumor control.
